Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker

We take a closer look at the Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker and the Fagor Splendid Pressure Cooker on this page. They are two excellent and well-known pressure cookers from the Fagor range.

Since these two are very close in how they work, I’ve made a summary of the Fagor pressure cookers features to give you a overall idea what they are all about.

Let’s start with the Fagor Duo:

As you can see in the image below there are handy 4qr, 6qr, 8qr and 10qr sizes to choose from to fit your needs. I would recommend picking the 6qr or 8qr if you are a first time pressure cooker user.

The small 4qr can be a tad limiting and the 10qr are for those who are feeding a small army or big family.

They are all made of Stainless Steel that is polished to a mirror finish. You need to take note that these are not non-stick pots and that your food when browning will tend to stick to the bottom.

The trick to deal with this is to heat the pot first, then add your oil or butter and then brown your food. Add a bit of water if things start sticking to the bottom and keep on stirring. You’ll need to be pro-active!

Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker Set (Combi 5-Piece)

Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker - Combi 5-Piece

For me, this set of Fagor Duo Pressure cookers is the perfect answer when dealing with a variety of dishes where you will need more than one pot.

The set consists of 4- and 8-quart pressure cookers pots, a pressure lid, a tempered glass lid and a steamer basket that can be inserted.

This enables you to cook food in your pressure cooker while cooking something else in the regular pot.

The pressure lid fits on both pots so you can make a small amount of food in the 4qr size pot or use the 8qr pot for bigger meals.

Since the Fagor pressure cookers are priced so low your are basically getting a 2 for 1 deal. You will be paying the price of one pot (in any other brand) but getting two.

Fagor Splendid Pressure Cooker

The Fagor pressure cookers are so popular because they do the job so well. With very little bells and whistles to figure out they do what they are meant to do without fuss.

The Spendid cookers are available in 4qr, 6qr, 8qr and 10qr sizes and all of them are priced under $100.

The Fagor pots have two pressure settings; 8 psi and 15 psi. Although you will mostly use the 15 psi setting for general cooking, the 8 psi setting comes in very handy for those dishes that require delicate handling like certain vegetables and seafood.

Fagor Splendid Pressure Cooker 2-by-1 (5-Piece Set)

Fagor Splendid Pressure Cooker - Combi 5-Piece

The set consists of a 4qr and 8qr pot, a pressure lid, a tempered glass lid and a steamer basket with support trivet.

The lids are interchangeable thus enabling you to use both pots as pressure cookers or as ordinary pots as needed. This is ideal when you are preparing a meal with a variety of dishes that will require you to use more than a single pot.

It is excellent value for money at under $125 for the set.

If you are new to pressure cooking expect that there will be a learning curve before you are the master of this. Some consumers reported that the manual is confusing especially for the first time user.

I would recommend that you get a Pressure Cooker Cookbook to help you along.

Both the Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker and the Fagor Splendid Pressure Cooker are excellent value for money and will last for many years and help you prepared countless delicious meals.
